Pirogovo is a historical place in the South part of Kiev. It took its name after the village which existed at the same place since the XVII century. Now Pirogovo is an open air museum of Traditional Ukrainian architecture and life style. Modern open air museum is one of the largest in the world. It covers a territory of 150 acres.
Each part of the museum represents life style, wooden buildings, churches, mills of different parts of Ukraine. Inside the huts you will find genuine furnishing and utensils. For information, the churches in the museum are still used for divine services. The museum shows you way of life of Ukrainian people from XVI-XIX centuries.
