SOFIYIVKA - THE NATIONAL DENDROLOGICAL PARK OF UKRAINE
In the heart of Ukraine you can find a lively place with combination of wild nature and human created landscape. This place was created artificially by the landlord and owner of Uman town Polish Count Pototsky. The name SOFIYIVKA was given after his wife Sofia and was given to her as a birthday present in May 1802. The author and supervisor of the building and park development was Polish Ludwik Metzell; all work was executed by the local peasants, who were not professional builders.
The park has a lot ofrocks, grottoes, pavilions, arbours, sculptures, waterfalls. A big striking fountain goes out from snake's mouth in the middle of the biggest lake.
Tour schedule:
At 08:00 a.m. the driver will pick you up at any location in Kiev and take you to the park.
Excursion starts at 11:00 a.m. with English speaking guide.
From 01:00 p.m. you will have time to independent exploration of the park. 03:00 p.m. meet the driver and transfer back to Kiev. 06:00 p.m. arrival to Kiev
Optional excursions at the park: driving by a boat on the underground river, driving on catamarans, riding a horse, driving in coach, driving on the ferry, driving by a steamship „Sofia", driving on a ski and sledge in the winter;
